How Counselling Can Help
I can help you break down what is going on for you and together we can explore and work on specific areas you feel you would like to. Our sessions together will allow you time to express yourself in a safe, supportive and empathic environment, without the worry of upsetting others. With time, space and a feeling of really being heard, by a non-judgemental person, we can learn a lot more about ourselves. We can experience personal growth and development, which sometimes we thought was not possible.
Counselling is the process which helps us to understand ourselves better. This enables us to cope with challenges that life throws at us. I feel that being able to talk freely about what is on your mind, can help you better understand what is going on for you in your life and help you to make sense of how it may be affecting you. It can give you a sense of relief, as we all know bottling our feelings up can in the end, cause us more distress than we feel we can handle.
I have often found that many people find it difficult to identify with their thoughts and feelings. I believe that behind every feeling, we have a thought and it’s this process that leads to how we react to situations and people in our life. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed and this can lead us to feel that we cannot cope. We can become stuck in cycles of behaviour that we may not be happy with or that we struggle to cope with.
Through talking and exploring, together we can find a new way of approaching your life and issues that you may be struggling with.
In essence counselling is a place where you can be yourself without fear of being judged. Life is a challenging journey, but with more self-awareness and understanding you can start to find a new way to move forward. I am here to help you to achieve this.
